Failing when burning on Memorex 16X DVD-R

Last week I bought a pack of Memorex 16X DVD-R Discs and when I tried to burn on these discs, the programs (Nero 6 or Power2Go) abort or fail (Unspecified target error). My laptop is an Averatec AV3270-EE1 and the OOD is a Liteon Slimtype SOSW-852S. I've already updated the firmware to the latest version and it still fails. The DVD RW is multi-format +/- burning. Someone could help me, please??

i'd definetly move to another media in your case. see here regarding media and other peoples comments regarding your drive.

also, can you post a nero log from a failed burn?

Memorex Is all I use, and I've never had a problem with them.

There's always a miracle! I used to get good burns with cmcmag,
they played, but my standards have changed as have my testing methods!

That drive was compatible with that media w/1.18, pioneer likes -R's.

yes, it doesn't seem to be as compatible with as many writers/firmwares as high end media, but i use sony now cause they are cheaper, 19$ for 50. even a cheap bastid like me knows that's a steal

not to mention our devices, set-up. the cmc media seems so much different across the pond.
