    Thanks Rbrtpl,

But This is not my DVD Writer where DMA is off. It's normal CD ROM.
    "CdRomPeripheral : SAMSUNG CD-ROM SC-152L atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off

My DVD Writer is this where DMA is on.

    CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On

    Am I missing something?

I wouldn't try to run xp with only 96 megs of ram. Min is 128megs.
Most use 256 megs or 512megs & up.

Now the optical drive issue, as stated is the faq's, burners should be master,
not slave, especially not slaved to a non dma drive.

Thanks Blutach for reminding me the rules. I respect the rules of the forum, and that mistake was because of my Anxiety.

            Rbrtpl,
I have 128 megs Ram but don't know why that shows 96MB. Though very shortly I would upgrade it.

I have enable DMA on both the drives. Let me try to swap the burner.

shared video(32 megs), get another 128 and watch xp fly!

I just get rid of old optical drives, unless they are standalone masters
they are of little use. Good dvd burners are so cheap now, it's all
I buy. I just found a grey Benq for 34$, w/ tax and shipping, 40$.

                Ya I would upgrade soon.

Regarding my problem: I swaped the CDROM and the burner. Burner being master and CDROM slave.

But the problem is still there. I ran Nero express but I could not see the files in the disc. Whereas when I used windows explorer I could see the files that I copied from my other burner.

Start all over with a different disk and try again.
                  I use cd-r's, never rw's as I don't trust their data integrity.

I tried the solution rbrtpl had suggested. I took a new cd-r and burned one small file (1 mb) with multisession enabled using nero express.

After completion, I put the same CD in the very same burner and started nero express, but could not see the file this time. But the file can be seen/copied from windows explorer.

Is it a problem of Nero 6.6?

Here is the log of my last session.

The problem is SOLVED. Here is what I did.

In Nero StartSmart window. There are few buttons down below, I selected the "toggle between standard and more advanced tasks" (second button from left) and switched to standard mode.

In standard mode when I clicked "make data cd", it is able to show all files burned previously.

Thanks a lot for all your support. I have learnt few things from you people.

                        Many many thanks...

But I still wonder why nero behaves this way?
