No hassle, be sure and reboot computer between steps. Put off using force aspi until later(if at all).

ok, this is what I have done.

      ran kill aspi > rebooted
ran nero clean tool > rebooted
manually deleted any files/folders left in D:\Program Files\Ahead > rebooted
      Installed nero > rebooted
Installed nero update (6.6.0.18) > rebooted

tried to burn dvd and got same reset error.

Thanks for the link. I have read through that topic but did not find anything posted on how to change the "Adapter driver for src to rec however, I did see that I had the pxhelp20.sys file under the drivers, so I went ahead and used "roxizap" and renamed the file. I went ahead and tried to burn again but I am still getting the reset error. I think you might be right about the driver for src and rec, but not sure how to set it to rec.

          My log again.

I am about out of options for software fixes, I hate to suggest running
anything else, maybe some more experienced fellows will pitch in,
do all other usb devices work on the computer, have you tried other
            ports?
It might be worthwhile to take your burner to a friends and try it on another computer.

ok what I don't get is, I just tried to burn the movie again with a different disk. its a Sony dvd+rw 4x. I'm burning the files to the dvd with no problem. I don't understand why a dvd+rw would work and not a dvd-r.

I have not tried dvdd yet. I went back and tried one more thing with Nero 6. I read somewhere on the internet that dissabling "DVD High compatibility mode (at least 1GB will be written)" option might help with some problems. I went ahead and unchecked the box and burned two movies at 4x and they worked. Does anyone know by dissabling the "DVD high compatability mode, if it will affect the picture quality of the movie? Not sure what dvd high compatibility does. Anyone know? Thanks. Also here is the log file for the successful burn.
