cutting in avi and divx

I was wondering what are the best programs to use to cut commercials out of programs i have recorded from my tv card.

I can't say that these are the "best". However, these programs get the job done

For an avi Virtualdub
For a mpeg TMPGEnc

[setarip]

And both are available at no charge (Although there is also a commercial version of TMPGEnc) ;>}
