Default HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B A101 Firmware update hlp.

    Hi,
I want to update the above LG drive with this driver A105, but there are 2 files with the d/l. Witch 1 do i use, A105AUTO.EXE or A105RPC1.EXE.

Also, i read on a post that your suposed to have this drive as secondary master, is that true? I Currently have it as pri master. I have an MSI ATAPI COMBO52XMAX 1.40 drive as my secondary slave.

Yeah LG likes em to sec master and unclip the other one when the firmware is updating.

I reckon the RPC1 will make the drive into a region free drive. Where did you get this firmware?

Right - you got the RPC1 stuff from TDB. Real good. OK. Go ahead and configure your drive properly as Sec'y Master, no slave and if you wanna RPC1 firmware run the RPC1. If you just want the regular one - run the Auto.

Enjoy your RPC1 drive. Now all we need for this fantastic drive is error statistics but I fear LG will never give us these.

For the firmware update usually newer firmware is better with stable releases. Try to flash firmware to A106, it is the newest official firmware for that drive.

If you want the Region Free RPC-1, it is separate but has an A106 download as well.
