    Default Dvd+rw

Hey all, I am going out to the computer store later, and wondered what kind of DVD+RW discs to buy. Last time I asked the associate, he gave me Memorexes (DL) and you all said to get Verbatims. Could someone prevent me from having to return one set and tell me what kind to get? Are the Verbatim DVD+RW's good?

PS - the store is Micro Center so that if you find them there, that would be easier than just a name.

    Thanks in advance!

Verbatim discs usually are very good. Recently, however, verbatim starts to sold bad quality discs: the pearl white series is bad!.

Until now, for what I know, rewritable discs are still good quality (no pearl white series).

Other good choices are Ricoh and TDK media. I find these media good in my personal experience.

My favourites are Philips, Maxell, JVC and TDK. I also have HP which I like.

Stay away from discs with CMC Magnetics dye. I have some Memorex discs and they are not very good.

I would go for either the HP or Philips discs from that store.

No, I still burn at 2.4x. I have some Philips 2.4x from 2003 that I still use on a weekly basis. They were really expensive at the time but they are still going.

I do have some Philips 4x still sealed up from a year ago not used in case the 2.4x discs failed me.

Can someone get me a specific link to the discs? The names don't help, because the speeds, and media ID and stuff makes a difference. It would be a great help if the links were from here.

They don't show the media ID. As I don't know the speed of your burner than go for either the 2.4x or 4x. Also, depends on what quantity you want.

    2.4x Philips

    4x Philips

    4x HP

    Disc ID: MKM-A02-00

That is what I bought - just got back from the store. It is a 10-pack of DVD+RW (4x) - Verbatims. I am doing a burn now to see how well it works.

I have some RICOHJPN under the TDK brand. They're pretty good. Doesn't matter - they're rewritables if things go wrong.

I use 2 for my system backups (verify naturally) plus have a few others hanging around for tests and such.

    Regards

Are the ones I got any good? The guy at the store said that Verbatims and Memorexes were the best, which of course I knew, but you guys criticize Memorex enough, so I got Verbatim.
