    Must love dogs

i have tried to make backup of this movie but this is something i have never run across before---the file goes through dvdd and/or dvdfab and shrink but when the file is sent to nero i get a burn failure---power calibration error--- has anybody seen this before---there is nothing wrong with my drives and the prog are the most recent and they work on other disc just not this one---tried on different sys with same result

Your firmware's too old for that media,
the new 2.18 should be your best bet.

the media has a spotty reputation

according to your log this is your media
ritek g05, which haven't been around quite that long,
you must have started with 4x media, ritek's
quality has slipped in the last year.

another possibility is your drive is wearing out or dirty, but we won't go there until
you try the firmware update or some older media with a better track record

chewy is right, i posted a log a while ago showing how simply go5 ritek failed. other members reported the same, even on other forums. try to get better media such as sony or verbatim.

i quess what i am saying is that the nero failed to backup [must love dogs] but i used the same ritek disc in the same sys to backup [ex o er] with no error 1 hr later after decryt. and shrinking that dvd could there be something on/in the dvd folder causing this problem--- like i said this was the only problematic dvd

if it gets thru shrink, it's usually good to go, as far as protection is concerned
