I have updated the Firmware on the burner but I might try re-installing the driver for it as well.

I did what jmet suggested and removed all unnecessary items of the start menu. It went from -

    Physical memory : 511MB (523760kB)
    Free physical memory: 92MB (95172kB)
    Memory in use : 81 %

    to -

    Physical memory : 511MB (523760kB)
    Free physical memory: 206MB (211172kB)
    Memory in use : 59 %

The only things on the quick launch bar is my Optus DSL, AVG Anti Virus, my network and Nero.

I did not load any nVidia drivers or updates. I re-installed the drive.

I just tried another burn through DVD Shrink and still is not working. I am at a loss to why. The drive will not even erase my CD-RW's.

        Below is the latest log.

I am not sure what happened to the missing driver. This log was from DVD Shrink and not through Nero.

How do I do a clean install as my system wont accept the original disk as it is now a later version through updates? Excuse my ignorance.

              what's the disk? XP/home original? SP1?

pro? you might try a repair?

              what's the pioneer connected to?
as a last ditch effort you could creat an iso with shrink and try to burn with

It is XP Pro SP2. I will see if it will allow me to repair. I am not sure it had that option.

Sorry but what do you mean about what the drive is connected to?

Well after a day of reworking, updating and downloading, my system is back to the way I like it after totally re-installing XP.

I tried another burn and still the block address is invalid and the burn failed.

                    Anyone want a boat anchor?

The burn log is below. Any furthur suggestions would be great.

The board is an ASUS Socket 939 for AMD CPU, NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI. So when the XP software was loading it requested the Nvidia nForce 4 driver disk.
