good news but i wouldnt want to switch to:

1) Compliant InterVideo WinDVD, CyberLink PowerDVD or Nero software

lol i probably won't switch on my main pc, but definitely on my weaker HTPC (cyberlink's the way to go). anyway with the introduction of coreAVC, people no longer need a supercomputer to decode AVC stuff (i heard 1080p on athlon xp 1800+).

i don't think ffdshow will support hardware acceleration, but hopefully coreAVC will, and cpu load will be reduced even further
