    Verbatims for $15

Get answers to your questions about order status, product information, returns, account questions, business sales, and so much more. We offer several forms of help including community support, chat, email.

Are these any good? If so, should I drop everything and run out to the store and buy these? I mean, I have some good Memorexes, mainly because Verbatims are too expensive. But, for this price, you can't go wrong Are these any good even though they are 16x, or are they junk, like Memorex 16x?

Just curious. Anyone used these with success?

I don't know about those, but the 16X Verbs I purchased from Best Buy have a sticker on the package that says it's certified for 16x. I think that's Verbatim's way of saying you can safely burn at 16X and they gurantee it. I am still a bit stubborn with sticking to the "no faster than 4x" golden rule.

Hmmm... now the store lets me return if "I am not happy with it". I am just curious if anyone knows offhand whether these are good or bad, to save me from any restocking fees that may be in affect.

As far as I have been able to find out(in the US) they are all made in Tawain
and some of the most consistent +R media you'll ever find, MCC 004, and the best media from tawain by far, I have some older 8x that was poor to fair.
Seems lately verbs are getting their act together while everybody else but TY
is losing theirs. TY is made in Japan and sold under many names also.

Please don't use the word memorex in the same sentence with Verbatim.

just wanted to add on some info on sth, when i buy my poor quality ritekgo5 akka traxdata 8x ,i pay spindle of 25 round 13.10$!
i went today to a computer shop in hope to find some verbatims, and all i could find were traxdata again and arita (ritekg05s again)...
and overall ,there were no dvd+r media in the whole town...
i live in small place on riviera, and riviera "capital" is round 17000 people(the town),next big city(200,000) is one hour away...
i just took a glance at croatia's main computer stuff importer, and all verbatims(biggest pack) i could find were these

              VERBATIM DVD+R 16x (25 pack) Media 4.7GB

              cash:88,54 kn - 14.50$

              c.card:90,51 kn - 15.20$

and all that in a country with average 700€ salary

and i think ill order a few spindles

                Memorex. Verbatim.
Memorex is not bad media! True, they use CMC's but so does Verbatim... that means nothing. Memorex also uses Ritek, another excellent disc.

Find a picky player like an old PS2 and test, do some transfer tests.

For one I don't have a picky old player or a PS2, and two, even the media ID thing says that Ritek is good (second class). It used to be 1st class, so those old Memorexes I have are even better. I believe you that Verbatim is good, but Memorex is bashed a lot here, even though they work fine.

I agreeb with Chewy, Mcc 004 (16X+) is the best from taiwan, Mcc 002 ( 8x -) is the worst in them but still get over 90 with sd speed test

Yeah, I get the point... but my point is, Ritek's are good too. Maybe not AS good, but I like them, and normally Verbatims are too expensive. Chewy, the moral of the story is to run out right now and get a pack of Verbatims, right?

Right or do like I did and spend several hours a day for several days redoing
most of my memorex, but that's ok, to each his own, I won't be buying any
B class media in the future. I'll just wait for the specials and pay 30C for
                            class A media.
