Power DVD 6 wont install need help

Hello when i try to install powerdvd 6 on my new machine it always crashes during the install stating catastrophic failure.

Anyone out there experience this and know a solution/workaround?

    My Specs:
    Asus A8N32SLI Delux ( nvidia AMD nforce4 16X chipset)
    AMD X2 4200+ CPU
    BFG 7800GTX vidcard
1GB DDR400 ram,(mem-scanned and known to be perfectly fine)

Im using latest Nvidia Drivers for both vid card and chipset.

I have a fresh WinXp (32bit) Pro install

Have installed many other programs so far with no problems.

let me know if there is any other information you need.

    Thanks.

No i do not have Alcohol 120% installed.

I was going to install it,but have not done so yet.

I do have the latest DirectX

As for lateset build, well how can I tell? Will right clicking installer and getting its properties yeild anything? Keep in mind it wont install so i cant check its executable only its install exe.( im at work now so ill check when i get home)

I will also mention that I do have Nero 7 installed, and Deamon tools installed.

Also i should mention that on this PowerDVD6 used to work fine on my old Intel P4 system (Asus P4P800-E Delux motherboard. 3.2GHz, Ati9800xt ), and other computers i have tried it on.

Searching google, hasent yeilded anything, so I appreciate any help anyone can give.

      Thanks.

Well I currently dont have any virtual drives, nor any virtual drive software.

Anywell I figured out what my problem was.

Seems I was trying to use an older v6 that must not be compatible with dual core processors.

Cyberlink should make it easier to know the version of the PowerDVD in the installer exe, that one has, as I thought I was using the latest, yet it turns out that I was not.

The newer version now installed just fine and everything works great.

Thanks anyways for trying to help out.

              Hello,

I am having the same problem with PowerDVD with an Athlon 4400. Would you please be able to shed some light on the build number?

I really like PowerDVD and would love to continue using it.

              Thanks in advance
