    Video Overlay not available...

When I launch WinDVD Creator on XP I get a "Video Overlay is not available on your system and you will not see video in preview mode" message.

Videos created in this software will not play in Win Mediaplayer v10. Win DVD viewing software gives a similar message and suggests to lower screen resolution or color depth" which have also been tried. I've uninstalled and reinstalled WinDVD softwares, and Media player 10 (9 didn't work either).

Videos will play fine on a commercial home DVD player however.

    Any ideas?

    thanks,

    1. make sure you graphics card's drivers are up to date

    2. make sure you have the latest directx

    3. are you running any desktop enchancing programs such as windowblinds, objectdock, any apps with transperancy, or anything similar?

try playing the files in "media player classic", click options-->output-->vmr9. thne play
