Not if it's a cross post (rule 11) or mentions DVD Shrink (rule 19).

Stick to your current thread and limit your backup discussion to Nero Recode or DVD Rebuilder please.

there's no such thing, ahead/nero is a for profit company

however they have a good update system, even if people have trouble using it

recode is part of the nero ultra package

the only thing we host is/was a particular update to nero burning rom 6

if nero 6 is already installed then you can update from this page

where it's already installed, it's part of nero digital

This is a stripped down version of Recode that only encodes to Nero Digital. The default priority is set to low, you can change that to alter the time taken to encode.

dr_ml422 - Nero Recode only works for unencrypted (no copyright protection) DVD's. (Ex: Home Movies)

let me clarify something, afaik and my googling conforms there are no free versions of nero anything, never have, and never will be, softpedia links to either a hacked pirated version or just the demo part that you would be better off getting from ahead, the one and only official nero distributor

the best deal on nero is buy the right dvd burner and get the oem/express disk with it

if you want the full blown deluxe nero then there's a clearance on 7 right now
                        40$, half price

or for any current users with a valid serial number, including the one you got with a dvd burner, you can preorder nero 8 full for 50$

It should actually make a DVD compliant file...

                          Nero Recode description
Nero Recode is a state-of-the-art program for importing, recoding (or compressing) and burning DVD-Video
Nero Recode is a great application for importing, recoding (or compressing) and burning DVD-Video titles that are be too large to fit onto recordable or rewritable 4.7 GB DVD disks First, you import the complete contents of non-copy protected DVD-Video discs or DVD-Video file structures from your harddrive.

After the DVD title is scanned and analyzed you can select the video, audio and subtitle content that you really want to keep, control the
quality of the video content that needs to be recoded, and even add your own data files.

Then you can recode and burn a new DVD-Video to DVD disc, DVD image file or hard drive folder in one easy step. The recoded DVD will keep the menu navigation of the source DVD-Video for that perfect look and feel.

Here are some key features of "Nero Recode":

                          · New improved Nero Digital profiles for improved Consumer Electronic compatibility
                          · Support for transcoding video files to Nero Digital has been added (AVI, AVS, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, MOV, VOB, WMV)
                          · In one comparison, Nero Recode 2.1 was well ahead of the competition and was unquestionably the fastest 9-to-5 DVD copying application*.
                          · Decoding support for Video Codec H.264/AVC, suited for HD material storage (1920×1080 pixel interlaced) with comparable low bit rates (8 MBit/s)
...but I'm beginning to think this is a wild goose chase. It appears to be false advertising by softpedia and I won't be recommending this one again.

As of April 2007, it is one of the top 500 websites
