    Choosing a video card/tv tuner/video capture

    Please excuse my ignorance.

I am looking for some guidance in helping me to choose a card for the following purpose:

I would like to purchase a card that can serve as a tv tuner (to connect my cable coax and also record video, etc), and also be able to capture video from my Sony Hi8/Dig8 cam corder. There are so many cards I am so confused.

Also, if the card only has a standard 15-pin video connector, will this compromise the video. My LCD monitor is a 21" NEC which has DVI inputs.

    Thanks,
    Pete R.

Have a look at the ATI All in Wonder cards. They have a TV Tuner built in.
