Lite codecs

Recently the packs I have downloaded have been a bit bloaty i.e. adding entries in the Start Menu and adding icons to the Taskbar when running.

Can someone recommend where I can get some real lite codecs that install without a trace.

I'll be using MS Media Center to view the videos and I'd be looking for the codecs required to cover whatever I may download from the internet.

I'll only being using them for viewing rather than anything else special.
