    Default Data Longevity

I have assumed that better media correctly burned and handled properly
will last longer than low quality media. I stumbled accross this tdk 4x dvd+r
that was burned 15 months ago with a newer nec 3520 burner at 4x.
If I remember right it was some of the last MIJ tdk I ever found.
Considering it's age and slight use I was surprised by the scan

I dont know how to read that graph.

are you saying that the TDK no longer plays?

what is the life span of a Back-up on quality media? (Taiyo Yuden ) with a good burner (nec 3550a)

    thanks

I have burned several TY disks in the last few weeks that didn't scan that well. For it's age that disk is a very good one, I hope my better burns last about 10 years. the 97 and PIF total are good

here a newer good burn, notice the lower PIF's
