To my experiences, the trophy depend on 95% if the blank, firmware and other stuff can only move up 1%, the blank can move up there easily if you got the right spindle

I am not as sure of that night, my worn out drives mess up any blank and
some drives when new couldn't ever burn a trophy burn. My first batch of
TYG01's and Yuden T02's and Verb MCC 004's did have a lot of 99's.

I have to agree with you on the mess up drive that can lower the score

that's the worst brand I could think of, make sure it's a oem and you can't update the firmware

this is a joke, as are those burners

                  But a brand new BTC
                  I paid over $80 for mine...don't get me started...lol

                  Seriously though;

Chewy - who releases firmware updates? I was looking at Benq website under firmware updates for my 1655, & they have an older vers. than what is avail. on rpc1.org. what's up with that?

I thought the manufacture would have the latest available on their own site...

Latest on Benq site is Version: BCDB 04-13-2006.

                  rpc1.org: Version BCHB May 11, 2006

Mine came stock with BCGB, is that the one I should be using or go for the BCHB?

Chewy, since I will be getting my drives on Monday, I would like to get some information from you. I would like to find out the best firmware and where to get it for each of the drives. This way I will have everything and be prepared to flash and install. I know that you keep on top of all this stuff, and know which ones work well, and also keep up on L&D and other such flashes.

You probably already know, but just in case, the drives are the 1650, 3550, and 111D. Thank You for the help and any links you have at hand.

for the benq start with the one that it comes with, they are shipping current firmware

the nec, must be flashed to bitsett(bad nec). dee's 1Y6 is a good one.

for the pioneer read up at the dangerous bros forum for bittsetting and removing riplock, you can become our resident expert on pioneers

there's a bunch of heavy duty crossflashing also
