    This process takes FOREVER

First to capture the video to my computer which took forever...

.... then to edit (did minor editing and that wasn't too bad).

Now I'm trying to burn it to a DVD and it is rendering which is taking forever!

Then I have to save it (.avi) back to a miniDV tape to keep a copy and that will take forever as well.

Is it supposed to be this time consuming? Is there any way to cut down on the time?

This is just an 82 min video and one event (my wedding shower). I can't imagine what it will be like to do my trip to Disney which was an entire week!

If you are taking the video into the computer from the camera using a capture card it shouldn't take longer that the length of the footage.

I use Intervideo WinDVD Creator and 60 min of video takes about 10 mins to render to an MPEG2 file.

Also, make sure your firmware is up-to-date for your DVD drive. If not, I've discovered things can take up to 5 times as long.
