Those who want lossless ripping - check out my DVD to MP4 Encoding Guide

I have prepared a guide to help out those who want to rip a DVD to mp4 (for playback on iPod or PSP) without quality loss on both audio and video. All the steps are fully explained and results are flawless, and optional subtitle adding is also explained.

sorry to tell you this, but your guide is flawed. just a couple of points

    - you say the process is lossless-- its not. 10000kbps cbr is not lossless

    - ssa conversion is not necessary, subrip can save ssa anyway

    - encoding to avi, to avi again, and then to mp4 is a waste of time and effort. also resizing in the middle step just degrades quality. all can be done in one step with a simple avisynth script and a decent encoder.

    - x264 is better than nero avc

    - lc aac audio is in general better than mp3, and more suited for the mp4 container
