    Corrupted 2-pass files

    Hi!

I got a slight problem encoding files with DivX 4.11 or 5.0.1 using the 2-pass mehtod. 1-pass movies work fine but 2-pass just don't!
Encoding works but if i want to open the files I get the error message "Explorer.exe made a mistake, please restart the program".. If i open it in VIrtualDUB there is just no sound available...
Has anybody an idea about that?
    THX

Try disabling your audio processing. Are you able to play the silent file?

        Seems to work!

        Hi!

I tried what you proposed... works really fine!
well just some more work getting the audio attached afterwards with virtual dub, but at least i don't have to encode the whole video again!
Now i'm using FlaskMPEG XiS 3.0 and it has no problems at all with the audio.
by the way: do you know where to get some more information about the "extended" settings od DivX 5.0.1 like the Psychovisual Enhancements or what to do with the "Advanced Parameters" and how they affect the vido?

        Thanks a lot so far

I don't use DivX5, can't help you with the questions. Glad to have helped you with the first problem anyway.

            why not DivX 5?

Why don't you use DivX5? because of the built-in ads?
DivX5 is also includet in the Nimo Codec package and afaik without any ads..
or have you got other reasons and a better codec i don't know about?

3.11 or M$ MPEG4 V2 coupled with nandub. I have never wanted to use anything else, not even 4.12, let alone the bugged DivX5.
