Default Burn process takes longer now?

I recently had to load XP again, losing very thing I had not backed up onto a external drive. The propblem I face now, the back up process using shrink has great has gotten alot quicker. However the burn process has almost slowed to a stand still. This used to be the other way around. The average time from start to finish went from 25 - 30 minutes to over an hour, ant thoughts on why.
