    Default flashing an LG

    Hi,

i just brought home an(other) LG dvd burner today its the 4163B. i wanted to know why it cant do a disc quality scan in nero cd-dvd speed?

i read about enabling features in other brands through flashing them. is that possible here?

    thx

For an all round burner you can't beat an LG.
It'll do a decent job with bad media. And I think they are probably one of the most durable ones you can get.

The only drawback of the LG ( 4167 here ) is the dang Riplock. Seeing as I only have the one DVD drive I need it for ripping too, and being locked at 4.5x kinda blows....but it definately hasn't let me down with burning and ripping quality.
