Searched for burn error answer but no luck

Well I searched the forums for an answer to my problem but pretty much came up with nothing. As of right now I uninstalled Nero 7.2.0.3 and installed Nero 6. It thows this error at me around 30 - 47% during the writing phase.

Ok, Nero 6. will not work with my DVD recorder in other words it won't bring up the option to burn with Nero in Dvd shrink. So back to version 7. If anyone can help me out on this it'd be appreciated. Could it possibly be that i'm trying to burn to fast at x16 speed? The discs are rated for x16 but I know that can be unreliable. Thanks in advance.

and you are using phillips media, which i have had very little luck with there may be the root of the whole problem. i bought a spindle of 30 once and decided i would never buy phillips again.
If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

Turned down the write speed to x8 and everything worked great as usual. I've rarely had problems with philips media and they are cost friendly.

When purchasing any discs, consider the following:

What is my time worth if I have to redo the movie because of questionable media?

Philips is a repackager. There are some philips discs out there but the majority are made by other manufacturers. Please see this list at videohelp. The list shows MAGs to RICOH. It is a lottery when you buy them.

Check out this quality list. You will see TYs and Verbs at the top because of there consistency in burning.

Now you may have sayed 10 or 20 cents a disc, but you may have to redo again immediately or sometime in the future because of the crappy discs. You saved 20 cents now and will spend 2 hours in the future redoing it.

              QUALITY 1ST!

              Gary D

Yeah, I'm not sure how "cost friendly" they are. I bought 50 Philips disc, and had 7 straight bad burns (and tried everything), tossed the other 43. I paid right at $14 for the Philips and went to to another store and found Sony disc for $15 for 50. I bought them and they are TY03 disc and have not had a bad burn since, in about 12 burns. So lets check it out, Philips $14 and no burns, Sony $15 and hopefully 50 burns, definitely not "cost friendly" to me.

Unfortunately, it was Best Buy, week before last, they were on sale but are not now. You can however, if you want to, purchase 200 discs that are TY02 or TY03 for 51.99 delivered, which comes to $.26 a piece. I purchased the two hundred pack two days ago, they will be here Monday and I will know whether I got the 02 or the 03. Sorry I forgot to mention the two hundred pack is on-line at supermediastore.
