    I'm a bit suprised that nearly 12 percent of voters gave Windvd a rating of 0!

        I have the older version @ 2 years old (without updates) and so far, plays without any significant problem. The codecs, etc. work well and the fast action scenes seem to be limited only by the tv-out card.....reckon 4 out of 5, 'cause they offer an "upgrade", instead of "the" update.
        Rig :

        P - 4 @ 1.7 Ghz, 768 mb (133) Ram, Intel 845 chipset M'board, Seagate 60 Gig., 5400 rpsm hdd, Maxtor 40 Gig. 7200 rpm hdd, Hauppauge 880 pvr card, etc.. O.S. - XP Home Edition.

          I've used power dvd 5 and still have it in my top 5 list but with win dvd it seems to get better video sharpness. Regarding features they both offer good and easy configurations.
