using mpeg4 in powerpoint presentation

Well, finding this site was good news but can anybody tell me if an mpeg4 file be included in a powerpoint presentation and played normally? What codec and player would I need to make it so?
It certainly would be a great way to include multimedia files of high quality in presentations without the huge file size overhead.

since you need a playback codec/filter INSTALLED on the machine you want the pps to play, i'd opt for an microsoft codec, which should be installed on most os anyway.

go for ms v2
