    Burn Quality Debate

Let's open this subject up for debate

To me the primary factor involved is the media(blanks) used.

other factors would or might be burner, firmware, burn speed, miscellaneous stuff (like power supply and multitasking) and burn software.

    any personal experiences?

Software would play a big factor i believe, as far as the compression ratio

I agree,,,media and burn speed is a BIG one.

seen hundreds of posts about this and the results where these two 80%
          of the time.....$.02

And the other 20 % is DMA and firmware related!

WOw i would never even think about burning at 12X,

I did a little testing of tyg02 and 12x with my nec 3540, it never did as well as at 8x and that was when it was new, but firmware may have improved.

In a few cases 12x is the best speed to burn at, I just burned a disk at 12x with my nec 3540, up to 2.4 gig I had a 99 with pif ~50, when 12x kicked in, I jumped to over 5600 PIF in 1.2 more gigs.
