    IfoEdit and Nero 7

I use DVD decrypter followed by DVD shrink, followed by Nero 7 Express to copy DVD's.

If I use IfoEdit to repair file pointers before compressing the file with DVD shrink, I get an error in Nero express saying :

    DVD file reallocation failed.

    Log is as follows:

Burn with Nero on it's own. Ignore the error message - the playback will be fine.

      Thanks Cynthia.

Do you know why Nero gives this error, and what it means?

Also when you say burn with nero on its own, do you mean don't use IfoEdit, because I only get it when I use IfoEdit before compression.

Ner0 thinks that VIDEO_TS.VOB is there because is it "half-referenced" in the IFO files. So it, being dumb, gives this dopey error.

If you wanna clean your IFOs, open the project in PgcEdit. Single left click on any PGC on the left with VMGM in it - eg VMGM, LU 1 (en), 2

Press Ctrl-Del and accept the invitation to remove entirely the VOB.

        Save (Ctrl-S) and burn.

(This ought to be an FAQ the number of times we come across it. jmet-wink wink!)

Thanks for the reply, I hope you will bear with me a little further:

Given that Nero does not make this error when the Ifo files are not altered by IfoEdit, I take it that it is IfoEdit that only half references the Ifo files.

So in order to avoid the error in Nero, I need to use PgcEdit as instructed after I use IfoEdit to correct file pointers.

          Cheers.
