how do you erase a cd-rw

    how do you erase a cd-rw

    when i try to erase it, it says that it is a read only disc and you can modify its files. Can anybody help.

    If you go back to the original software that burned the disk, it should have a "delete files on disk." If you closed the disk, it's to late.

      Wow, a CD-RW disc that wont erase? Even if you just select the drive and erase disc it still wont erase?

        Nero should be able to do it, do a full erase, maybe it will let you then.

            if nero, burn disc. if data on there, it will ask to erase.

              yeah i figured it out. i had the disc in the wrong drive. i thought that both my drives were able to wirte but only one does.
