    Symantic antivirus

What do you think about symantic. When i am at school they have a program that makes you install it so that you can surf the internet. I prefer avg free but they don't. I was just wondering who likes it and who hates it or who has never tried it. The program they use is something like integrity scan report..??..??..??. It really sucks to change the antivirus that you are used to just to surf the internet.

I've been using the Corporate version for years I got it free from work. I don't mind. Some call it a resource hog. An antivirus program once set up should be transparent and not a bother really until it finds a virus or something.

I have used both norton and mcafee over the years and have had very few problems with either. Norton does seem to hog a few more resources. currently using Mcafee again because comcast provides it free now.

          Hello All

I have tried norton, mcafee, and avg. avg picked up viruses norton, and mcafee missed, so I heard about avast antivirus and found it picked up viruses the other 3 missed. Dont plan on changing anytime soon. Have a great day.

I have norton Internet Security with Spyware and it has blown away everything I have ever tried. I always use norton on my mainn computer, TI have tried AVG on my "other" computer but it always seems to let stuff thru. If you have a powerful computer, then Norton is best IMHO.

I agree, rsmober. I just cleaned out my pc and reinstalled windows because of weird stuff showing up in my windows file. Took me half the day to reinstall all my programs and 2 calls to roadrunner because I had to get all my connections reset.

I will use up my 6 months of norton, and then download the freeware everyone here uses!

I haven't had a problem with viruses with Symantec. The live update page is only updated weekly. I check the update page every time I boot up and there is usually an update every day just about.

Yes you can use avg free antivirus, But I highly recommend avast because my experience with avast is very good and it is one of the finest free antivirus I had ever used, But when it comes to avg it offers VPN complementary.
