why are dual layer dvds worse then regular ones?

I need more space! I burned 2 movies on one DVD movie selection menus and buttons and added a audio section it looks nice but I could only fit 2 videos on the dvd lasting one: 1h - two: 30min I tried to originally fit 4, so I notice to make my dvds more productive I need more info per disc. Where can I get good duallayer disc that I can use for the same purpose?

I'm having a problem understanding what your question has to do with the thread title.

      Carlos,
If cost does not matter, buy verbatim dual layer disks, dual layer is harder to burn and slower to burn. I can burn 2 single layer disks @8X in 18 minutes at a cost of 50-60 cents, a dual layer @2.4X will take over twice as long and costs 4 times as much. My single layer burns will play as well or better than dual layer.
