Default Editing Dazzle MPEGs with Virtual Dub

I am using Dazzle II PCI, but the MPEG 2 files it makes won't open in VirtualDub. Does anyone know a setting in Dazzle that will produce a usable MPEG 2 file? Dazzle's customer support basically told me "You're on your own if you want to use these files in other applications."

Use TMPGEnc to edit your MPEG2 files (VirtualDub only accepts .AVI and MPEG1 files for direct input)...
