    NEC 3550-one good year

after hundreds of great burns(it's done the lion's share for me) I made a coaster with it and TYG02 media tonight.

I burned another disk which was successful but cdspeed thought it was a dvd-rw booktyped dvd-r, disk scanned ok(92/1200PIF total) in my benq.

Probably blow it out one last time and try to get another 100 burns out of it.

with repairing my library I probably burned or ripped a 100 disks with it the first month or two, since then it's been used 50% burning, 45% ripping and 5% scanning if that.

Probably seen almost a thousand disks, did burn or rip a lot of karaoke and music cd's also.

keeping it an all purpose workshop didn't help

My 3550's should last several years then if they can take that kind of abuse.

I thought that was a joke...do you use your beltsander on your desk...and those poor cats, I would never use a beltsander on my cats.

My computer shop is in a basement 2 bay garage(1 9ft door), it gives me the option to set up to 3 computers at the same time for big projects, the garage side is used for remodeling projects(sanding old doors down) cutting baseboard and casing for bathroom remodeling etc. I have always got 1 or 2 computers I am working on for clients. Usually use a 6 ft table and 5 ft desk in an L, but add another 6 foot table for a U shaped work area when need arises. My daughter and her boyfriend just finished a WOW marathon.
Damn cat 5 cables strung everywhere. Thankgoodness my son and his friends outgrew the UT lan party phase.
