IMGBurn is definitely worth a try. Your DVD burner might be going bad as well and not burning properly as it gets toward the outer edges of the blank disc. There is the off chance that maybe you got a defective bunch of Verbatims. I had one spindle in which several of the Verbs in the middle of the stack had some type of blemish and could not be used.

I'm not as familiar with Nero logs, but you seem to have a lot of processes running while you are trying to burn to have such a low 'Free Physical Memory'. You should shut some applications down when you go to burn, you'll get a better burn.

And this burn seems to have failed because the files you were trying to burn were not DVD compliant.

And as for the 2003 date, I think that is when you first installed that Ahead(Nero) folder.

that's the original firmware for that drive

1.02 should do a better job with that media(good stuff)

and that version of nero is pretty old too

I would update it from this link

I am glad you asked, the included instructions specify the burner be standalone master, and I always reccomend safe mode for best flashes,
it's a close call but a burner running original firmware is often already broken and needs to be fixed with the firmware updates, that's why they put them out.

Of course looking at that 3 year old liteon and it's firmware is kind of scary, I would retire it.
