I changed the dma and it's still taking along time to burn, normally what I am burning takes about 10 mins to encode and now it's taking an hour to two I tried a couple diffrent things. I'm affraid I will waste another hour trying this and get a error at the end

try a burn with imgburn, set the burn speed to 4x, close down all other processes after rebooting, you don't have enough ram to hardly do a dvd
with an efficient program much less a hog like nero 7.

this is a brand new computer
my crystal ball says it's a gateway and over a year old, at least the firmware for the dvd burner is probably a lot older than that,
You'll need to start all over with nero and run their clean tools

would you do the same thing again with the new pioneer burner?

I would spend money on another 512 megs of ram first before wasting it on nero

Changing burn speed in Shrink using Nero 7

I have burned a lot of DVD using Shrink and it does a great job but today, I ended up with a 4X DVD and it refused to burn it as it said it was burning it at 16X.

I can see not way to tell Shrink to change the Nero engine to change the speed and you never 'see' Nero when using Shrink

I finally went to Nero and burned at 4X and it worked OK but does anyone know how to use Shrink to burn at
