Why are DUAL LAYER BLANK DVDs so bloody expensive?

    Hi

Sorry .. I had to ask!

In my home country [MALAYSIA], the cost of a DUAL LAYER DVDs are about 12-15 times more expensive than the regular 4.7GB blank DVDs.

This is based on the assumption the 8.5GB & 4.7GB are from the same brand.

I now want to hear the PRICE RATIO for the 2 sizes from other countries.

    CHEERS!

That is a good question you would think by now they would be a lot lower. But then again remember back when blank CD's came out and then when blank single layer dvd's came out they were all real expensive. Now they are cheap. i am sure in time the dual layer will be cheap one day too.

That's strange as verbatims are made in a place called singapore, must be real far from Malaysia.

office max has sl for 26cents and dl for 1.50

that's about 6 times the price

If they ever drop below a buck each I think I would switch to DL exclusively.
