Hello all, quick question, bought a VIDEO/DVD RECORDER and transfered all my VHS tapes to dvd, forgot to Finalise the discs in the machine, now the machine is broken and my discs won't play in other machines, can I finalise the discs with another program like DVDD using my PC ????

Yeah, and when I open DVDD it says the DVD is not empty, but cannot open with Shrink or play with WINDVD, got a pioneer dvr109 burner, nothing wrong with it, and don't want to have to re-load and re-burn every one of these discs if I can help it.

The discs are never a problem, same brand I always use, and use them in DVDD no problem normally, just the ones that have been through the recorder it says that it doesn't like.

And yeah, thought of trying to finalise one in another recorder, going to ask my friends to see if any of them have one

No Chewy, DVDD will not open the disc, say's 'incompatible media'

But have managed to open them with Nero Vision Express 3, by using the 'open VR disc' function and burn to hard drive then re-burn
