Can't burn image file with Nero 7 Ultra, error message

    Hi Guys,

First time here, and hello to everyone.

I am not sure if i am even in the correct forum for this problem but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

I was trying to copy a DVD which i have successfully did before but this time Nero 7 Ultra won't burn it for me.

I've ran it through DVD Decrypter and created an image file then through DVD Shrink to burn it onto a DVD-R disc.

When DVD Shrink has finished it automatically switch's to Nero and completes cashing the files but when it comes to writing the disc it stated it could not and ejects the disc.

I don't know if this will help but i copied the log report of the error in the hope someone could enlighten me so will attach it here.

Newbie here,so guys go easy and thank you for any help.

Try reading The Golden Rules & it also wouldn't hurt to check if your Nero is up to date.

Hi Soup, thank you for the reply.

Looked in the "Golden Rules" thread and there was only one difference there from my setup.

It was to do with DMA(which i know nothing about)settings they differ from my own.

These are my own private DVD's i wish to copy and as stated had no problem burning previous projects.

I am using "Datawrite 8xDVD-R media and they are compatible with my burners.

Start by turning off any programs that may be running in the background that are not essential. . Look in lower right side of task bar for icons of running programs.. disconnect from internet while burning and shut down anti virus and firewall if running. Lots of programs suck memory and can be turned off temporarily while you rip and burn. Good Luck

              Seamey,

If you are going to make iso's and burn them why not just use dvddecrypter,
nero 7 is a ram hog and your computer looks like it doesn't have any to spare.

expect a bad disk every now and then with those blanks

avoid the auto burn feature also to save resources/ram

                Hi Chewy,

Thank you for the advice on Dcrypter, gonna have to read more on it.
Looking in the forums and found the "Decrypter" tutorial,so gonna read up on it and try to learn something.

I thought it was just a matter of putting the ISO file in and burning it to disc,no it wanted me to load the DMS file, did that but the file was to big to burn.

All this to keep my wee granddaughter happy.

Took a lot of stuff of my hard drive and freed up about 20GB, transferred it to my slave drive, think i'll invest in an external hard drive and backup everything to there.

Hope i resolve this soon but will keep trying and keep you all up to date,

                Thank you,

                Seamey.
