anyone know how to get things from desktop showing when in fullscreen? it seems fullscreen blocks out anything from behind it like msn popups and such... any ideas?

Probably not, as that's the whole point of watching something fullscreen. Ofcourse audio notifications work just fine.

I'm with anononymez, in true full screen you don't want anything to pop up in front of it.
I do like the "on top" options though for letting other apps appear in front of my screen when I choose to do so.
