    Nero PMA Update failure

I have installed windows vista and Nero.Ultra.Edition.Enhanced.v7.8.5.0.

When I want to burn cds everything goes alright.
However when I want to burn dvds everytime it reaches only 1% and then shows PMA Update failure and could not perform Disc-at-once.
So,the burn is cancelled and the dvd is lost...
    I have an LG DVDR.

Also when I burn the dvd automatically when I create a movie with ConvertXtoDVD everything goes OK.

Does anyone know what it has to do with?
Is it a software or a hardware problem?

    Here is the error report

    welcome to the forum

    1. the drive may be dying, but before you pitch it try to update the firmware

xp 6.0 is vista according to nero

burning cd's doesn't mean anything with a dvd burner

Do you believe that the drive is dying?Or it has to do with a software problem? The cds as I said are burnt perfectly

the drive is almost 3 years old, if those are real TY's then the drive may be dying

you could always try a test with imgburn as nero often gets corrupt

does convertx show a burn log?

I installed ImgBurn without uninstalling Nero.
This is ImgBurn's error report. It didn't even reach 1%.It remained in 0 and showed this error.

If I press retry comes a similar message with this difference:

I just keep trying and losing Dvds

I do not remember if convertX shows a burn log but it works perfectly,as I said before.
