    video format convert to mp4

I am trying to encode video file format (any) to MPEG-4. My question is which encoder software I should use? Seem like encoder software such as TMPEnc only convert to MPEG1/2 . I downloaded WMP 7 but I think they convert the file to wm format.

Any expert could give me any help?
    Thanks in advanced

so, the video format can be encoded in MPEG-4 format? because as far as I know (note: my knowledge is narrow) Virtual dub only convert to MPEG1/2.

Yes virtualdub will encode, with any codec you have installed on your computer. To make real mp4 file (the file format, not just the video stream format), you need divx5, but I don't think this is what you want to do. Currently the mp4 file format only has very limited playback support, and you need to encode the audio as AAC.

The better way to do things would be to create an avi file with divx3/4/5 video, and mp3 audio (or whatever you desire). virtualdub will do this quite nicely.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

I ONLY use the first ever version of vidomi, since it was the best, now it isn't.

The playback? I dunno, never tried it!

I only use vidomi to convert files to fast motion which gives me neat DVD quality.

wouldn't it be better to use nandub + divx3.11 2 pass techno cos it uses both low and fast motion when appropiate.
