Help with IEEE 1394 and Ulead

I am new to video editing and need some help with video capture. I am using Ulead Video Studio 8.0. When I use my VideoExpress to capture the analog signal everything is fine. However, Ulead does not recognize by IEEE-1394 to capture the video digitally. (It doesn't show it as an option as a capture device.) I have checked in Device Manager and the IEEE-1394 appears to be installed correctly. How do I get Ulead to capture via the Firewire?

Whenever your cam is connected via firewire you will see on its screen DV
and windows (if xp you are talking about) will prompt you that a cam is connected and which program you want to use to capture. Do you see any of these ? If yes
then you may use windows movie maker to do the capture instead and later you can edit with you lead. If you don't see any promts means you firewire not installed properly

Turn on camera (already hooked up by firewire) and then turn on PC.
      You raise the blade,
      You make the change,
You rearange me till I'm sane.
You lock the door, throw away
      the key,
      There's someone in my head
      and it's not me.
