Default MPAA lauds efforts to strengthen IP laws

The fight against piracy got a boost when Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) introduced legislation that would strengthen the government's law enforcement resources to crack down on intellectual property theft. Film theft which costs foreign and domestic distributors, retailers and others $18 billion a year also takes a real toll on the American economy in the way of lost wages and revenue.
