    Slow playing movies

hey i have a divx file that is encoded with divx 3.11 and its fps is 25.005 and its 45kbps. I was trying to recompress it because my cpu basically sucks. But when I open the movie it plays like its in slow motion and the sound is even in slow-motion. When I recompressed it my setting are 15 fps and 21kbps. Any tips on having a avi file with 15 fps and 21 kbps and with the movie running smooth.

What cpu do you have? Encoding it at a lesser fps will make it more jerky I think, so it may not benifit it much anway. I think at least.
If at first you don't succeed, give up.

Dropping frames from 25 fps down to 15 fps will definitely see your movie losing its smoothness. It is not a good thing to do. What you should actually do is reduce its resolution and recompress it to whatever size you want. The audio, assuming it's MP3 already, should be left alone or reduced to no lower than 56 or 64 kbps.
