    Stats:

For the week ending September 16, 2017, here are the stats:

    Percentage of revenue:
    Blu-ray vs DVD: 37.07% vs 62.93%

Blu-ray sales total spending: $24.66 million
DVD sales total spending: $41.87 million

    These stats available from here:

    Home Media Magazine

    Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue and weekly market share remained pretty steady compared to the previous week, and we have a couple of notable new releases this week.

The most popular of which, and also this week's top seller, was the 2017 remake of The Mummy.

It easily outsold the number two title, which was also a new release, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.

The next new release came fifth, The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Tenth Season, while It Comes At Night came 9th.

Outside of the top 10, we have the re-release of E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial, as a 35th Anniversary Edition, at 14th.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Three of this week's 5 previously mentioned new releases all had UHD editions. Despite this, only 5 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
    1. The Mummy+
    2. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie+
    3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+
    4. The Lion King: Signature Collection
    5. The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Tenth Season
    6. Baywatch+
    7. Alien: Covenant+
    8. Megan Leavey
    9. It Comes At Night
    10. Kingsman: The Secret Service

Blu-ray, Ultra HD Blu-ray Sales Share:

BD sales share for a title is the percentage of disc packages sold for this movie that contained the Blu-ray edition of the film (including combos, and Ultra HD editions). So a BD sales share of 60% indicates that 60% of disc packages sold for this particular film contained the Blu-ray edition for this film, and so anything over 50% means that the Blu-ray version of the film was more popular than the DVD version.

Being a re-release, 'E.T.' had the highest BD sales share for the week, with 64.01%. 'The Mummy' wasn't too far behind though, with 61.54%. 'Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie' capped off the good performances (on Blu-ray) with 55.75%.

'It Comes At Night' didn't do as well though, getting only 40.88%. 'The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Tenth Season' go 37%.

For the UHD releases (again, none were available on 3D), 'E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial' did very well to get a UHD sales share of 51.05% (this means that the UHD edition was actually the most popular edition for this re-release). 'The Mummy' got 7.32% while 'Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie' got 1.88%.

The stats for the week ending September 17, 2016 are as follows. Some small adjustments to the data posted last year (based on more recent updates) has been made and is shown below.

This time last year, 'Captain America: Civil War' was released. There was no way any of this week's new releases could stand up to a mega release like that, and so we have an "all red week".

Blu-ray sales decreased by $19.77m (down 44.5%), while DVD sales decreased by $14.63m (down 25.9%) producing $34.4 million less in combined revenue.

Blu-ray's market share decreased from 44.02% to 37.07%.

      Stats:

For the week ending September 23, 2017, here are the stats:

      Percentage of revenue:
      Blu-ray vs DVD: 48.85% vs 51.15%

Blu-ray sales total spending: $43.29 million
DVD sales total spending: $45.32 million

      These stats available from here:

      Top 10:

A huge release this week in the form of Wonder Woman, which helped Blu-ray revenue reach a recent high and allowed weekly Blu-ray market share to also reach one of this year's highs (but just shy of crossing over the 50% mark).

Last week's top seller, 'The Mummy', was a distant second, selling some ten times less than 'Wonder Woman'.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind arrives on Blu-ray again and on 4K for the first time in this 40th anniversary edition (I guess we'll be having these every 5 years then).

That was it for new releases in the top 10 though, but The Big Sick.

Missing out on a top 20 finish on the Blu-ray charts, but within the combined Blu-ray and DVD charts, was The Hero in 12th and Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars in 20th

So there were plenty of releases, but as usual, it's the top seller that usually makes the most difference.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: 'Wonder Woman', 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' and 'Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars in 20th' were all available on UHD, and all did quite well on the format (see below). 7 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
      1. Wonder Woman+
      2. The Mummy+
      3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+
      4. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie+
      5. The Lion King: Signature Collection
      6. Kingsman: The Secret Service
      7. Hocus Pocus
      8. Close Encounters of the Third Kind - 40th Anniversary Edition*+
      9. Alien: Covenant+
      10. Baywatch+

BD sales share for a title is the percentage of disc packages sold for this movie that contained the Blu-ray edition of the film (including combos, and Ultra HD editions). 'Wonder Woman' stormed the BD sales share charts with 72.62%. 'The Big Sick' got a very respectable 64.48%. 'Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars' got 43%, and 'The Hero' only got 13%.

The 40th anniversary edition of 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' was available on Blu-ray and 4K only, so technically it had a BD sales share of 100%.

For the UHD releases, 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' managed a UHD sales share of 83.60%, while 'Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars' got a respectable 16.77% as well. 'Wonder Woman' debuts on 4K Blu-ray at 9.65%. 'Wonder Woman' was also available on 3D, with a 3D sales share of 3.04%.

This time last year, there were also some big releases, including 'Beauty and the Beast: 25th Anniversary Signature Edition' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows', and so the profit jump from this year to the previous wasn't as big as expected.

Blu-ray sales increased by $6.04m (up 16.2%), while DVD sales decreased by $5.89m (down 11.5%) producing $0.15 million less in combined revenue.

Blu-ray's market share increased from 42.11% to 48.85%.

Blu-ray sales total spending: $31.35 million

        Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue fell compared to last week as this week's top selling new release, Transformers: The Last Knight, was no match for 'Wonder Woman'. But it did beat the superhero movie to the number one spot on the Blu-ray charts, although not by much. A five movie collection feature this latest Transformers movie and all of the previous ones also got into the top 10, at 10th.

Other than that, 47 Meters Down was the next best selling new release, in 6th place.

That was it for new releases in the Blu-ray top 20, although on the combined Blu-ray and DVD chart at 11th was Longmire: The Complete Fifth Season.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: 'Transformers: The Last Knight' was available on UHD. 7 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
        1. Transformers: The Last Knight+

        9. Kingsman: The Secret Service
        10. Transformers: 5-Movie Collection*

'Transformers: The Last Knight' managed to get a BD sales share of 70.04%, which is fairly high. The other releases didn't do as well, with '47 Meters Down' managing 39.23% and 'Longmire: The Complete Fifth Season' getting only 2%.

The UHD sales share of 'Transformers: The Last Knight' was a fairly decent 7.83%, and as it was also available on 3D, the 3D sales share was 2.61%.

          Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue and market share remained largely unchanged, as we have a new A-list-ish in the form of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The previous 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films also made entries into the top 20, including 'On Stranger Tides' in 12th, 'At World's End' at 19th and 'Dead Man's Chest' at 20th.

'Dead Men Tell No Tales' easily outsold the only other new release in the top 10, Cult of Chucky, which finished in only 5th place.

Dragon Ball Super: Part Two finished in 16th and was the only other new release in the top 20.

So a pretty quiet week, but 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' did well enough to keep the Blu-ray stats steady.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' was available on UHD, only the second ever Disney release on the format (the other was 'Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 2'). 6 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

'Cult of Chucky' was further behind with 47.31%.

The latest 'Pirates' movie had a very respectable UHD sales share of 6.03%.

            Top 10:

Both Blu-ray and DVD revenue dropped compared to the previous week, despite the release of four new releases in the top 20.

But even the most popular new release, Baby Driver, didn't manage to be the top seller for the week (which was still 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'). 'Baby Driver' was a close second though.

The House managed to get to 6th place.

Outside of the top 10, The Beguiled was at 14th place while Wish Upon finished in 18th.

              Stats:

For the week ending October 21, 2017, here are the stats:

              Percentage of revenue:
              Blu-ray vs DVD: 44.05% vs 55.95%

Blu-ray sales total spending: $34.23 million
DVD sales total spending: $43.48 million

              Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue and market share jumped distinctly up compared to the last week, thanks largely to the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming.

It was the clear top seller for the week, a long way ahead of the second placed, and also newly released, Girls Trip.

With season 2 of Stranger Things being released, Stranger Things: Season 1 was made available to buy as a special collector's edition at Target. Despite the limited release (only at Target, and only as a Blu-ray combo box set), it sold enough copies to get to 6th place on the Blu-ray sales chart. Totally tubular!

In 10th place was the next new release, Batman vs. Two-Face, and in 14th place was the last of the new releases in the top 20, American Gods: Season 1.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Only 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' was available on UHD for this week's top 20 releases. 6 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
              1. Spider-Man: Homecoming+
              2. Girls Trip
              3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales+
              4. Baby Driver+
              5. Wonder Woman+
              6. *Stranger Things: Season 1
              7. Hocus Pocus
              8. Transformers: The Last Knight+
              9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+
              10. Batman vs. Two-Face

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' had a monster of a first week BD sales share, with 79.13% - it's impressive given the sales volume too. Selling much fewer copies but still doing great in terms of BD sales share was 'Batman vs. Two-Face', which got 74.24%.

'American Gods: Season 1' had a great debut on BLu-ray as well, with 70.43%.

              'Girls Trip' got 45%.

For 3D and UHD sales share, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' had both types of editions, with the 3D sales share coming in at 4.10%, and the UHD sales share at a very respectable 13.20%.

For the week ending October 28, 2017, here are the stats:

                Percentage of revenue:
                Blu-ray vs DVD: 38.29% vs 61.71%

Blu-ray sales total spending: $27.66 million
DVD sales total spending: $44.57 million

                Top 10:

A big release, but not quite A-list, in War for the Planet of the Apes saw Blu-ray revenue take a dip compared to the previous week, and for weekly Blu-ray market share to retreat back below 40%. The release of the last in the new Planet of the Apes trilogy also helped to sell the Blu-ray exclusive trilogy box set, which sold enough copies to get to 11th place.

The critically panned The Emoji Movie - it's hard to tell if the movie's low IMDb rating is deserved or not, but it did well enough on Blu-ray to get to third place.

In 4th place was another new release, Annabelle: Creation.

Slowing 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' sales and with 'War for the Planet of the Apes' not being as big a box office hit as the Spider-man reboot, explains this week's lower results.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Both 'War for the Planet of the Apes' and the 'Planet of the Apes Trilogy' box set were available as UHD releases, as well as 'The Emoji Movie'. This meant that 6 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
                1. War for the Planet of the Apes+
                2. Spider-Man: Homecoming+
                3. The Emoji Movie+
                4. Annabelle: Creation
                5. Wonder Woman+
                6. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales+
                7. Hocus Pocus
                8. Girls Trip
                9. Baby Driver+
                10. *Stranger Things: Season 1

'War for the Planet of the Apes' managed a BD sales share of 60.72%, the only of this week's new releases to get over 50% (apart from 'Planet of the Apes Trilogy' box set, which was a Blu-ray exclusive), while 'Annabelle: Creation' got 47.69%.

                'The Emoji Movie' got 45.29%.

For 3D and UHD sales share, 'War for the Planet of the Apes' had both types of editions, with the 3D sales share coming in at a good 4.90%, and the UHD sales share at an even better 8.55%. The 'Planet of the Apes Trilogy' box set was very well received, with a 37.09% UHD sales share.

                  Top 10:

Blu-ray weekly revenue and market share dropped compared to the previous week, due to a relatively quiet release slate for the week ending November 4, 2017.

The Dark Tower was the most notable of the (only) two new releases in the top 20, and it was well received enough to be the top seller for the week.

The other new release, settling in at sixth place, was Kidnap.

Halloween favourite 'Hocus Pocus' still commands a place in the top 10, but maybe for not much longer.

And that was it for the week!

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Of this week's notable new release, only 'The Dark Tower' was available on UHD. This meant that 6 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):

UHD sales share for 'The Dark Tower' was at a healthy 7.98%.

An "all red" week thanks largely to the fact that this time last year was when a box office hit, 'Star Trek: Beyond', was released on Blu-ray. In comparison, 'The Dark Tower' was a box office bomb.

Blu-ray sales decreased by $10.59m (down 30.3%), while DVD sales decreased by $12.64m (down 22.1%) producing $23.23 million less in combined revenue.

                    Blu-ray vs DVD: 42.18% vs 57.82%

                    Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue rose almost $10 million compared to the previous week largely on the back of one new release, Cars 3. It was by far the most popular release of the week, easily outselling last week's number one, 'The Dark Tower'

You have to go down to 7th for the next new release, which was Your Name.

In 9th place was Westworld: Season One, followed by The Glass Castle.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Both 'Cars 3' (another Disney 4K release!) and 'Westworld: Season One' were available on UHD. This meant that 6 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

For a TV box set, 'Westworld: Season One' did well too, with 70.54%

Only 'The Glass Castle' disappointed, with 21%

For UHD sales share, 'Westworld: Season One' beat 'Cars 3' as well, with 25.79% vs 3.58%.

                      Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue was down compared to last week as this week's new releases weren't good enough. They weren't even good enough to unseat last week's number one, 'Cars 3'.

New release Atomic Blonde came closest, securing a close second place.

There were further new releases in 5th and 7th, in Wind River and The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature.

Failing to make the Blu-ray top 20, but managed to get in to the combined Blu-ray and DVD top 20, was Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You in 17th and Amityville: The Awakening in 20th place.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Of this week's above mentioned new releases, only 'Atomic Blonde' was available on UHD. This meant that 8 out of the top 10 had Ultra HD Blu-ray editions.

                      9. The Emoji Movie+
                      10. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+

For UHD sales share, 'Atomic Blonde' arrived on UHD with a very good 14.24%.

                        Top 10:

It's Black Friday week again, where Blu-ray and DVD sales rise dramatically in this once a year sales event. More interestingly, it's an interesting event that can be used to compared year on year sales results, for both Blu-ray and DVD.

But before we get to that, there's the matter of new releases, and most of the time, there aren't any due to the fact that most people are too busy picking up bargains to care about new releases. Certainly, there weren't any in the top 10, but The Hitman's Bodyguard was brave enough to release this week, and it came 18th.

But it was the discounted titles that were the popular picks, with Wonder Woman topping the sales charts. Checking our Amazon price history graph (using the link just provided), the Black Friday pricing for this movie was only $9, where it is normally around $20. Not a bad deal at all!

Spider-Man: Homecoming was another title that was discounted to $9, and it was second place.

Other re-entries into the top 10, thanks to discounting, include The Lego Batman Movie, Trolls, Kong: Skull Island (which dropped to an incredibly low $7.96 for BF) and Transformers: The Last Knight ($7.65!).

But the overall result is one that's somewhat disappointing. Blu-ray revenue failed to break through the $100 million barrier like it has since 2012, while DVD revenue was also down by quite a bit compared to BF 2016.

Blu-ray sales dropped by 8.5% while DVD sales dropped by 15.7%. These drops are larger than what was recorded last year, when Blu-ray even managed to record a sales increased compared to BF 2015. Total revenue was down $36.01 million.

Note that these stats do not include Cyber Monday sales, the stats for which comes next week.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Nine out of the top 10 all had UHD editions ('Stranger Things' had to go and ruin the perfect run), although most of these editions weren't part of heavy discounting. This is up from the 7 titles in the top 10 last year, so if nothing else, UHD has made some progress this year.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
                        1. Wonder Woman+
                        2. Spider-Man: Homecoming+
                        3. Cars 3+
                        4. The Lego Batman Movie+
                        5. War for the Planet of the Apes+
                        6. *Stranger Things: Season 1
                        7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+
                        8. Kong: Skull Island+
                        9. Trolls+
                        10. Transformers: The Last Knight+

The only new release in the top 20, 'The Hitman's Bodyguard', managed a BD sales share of 57.16%, along with a UHD sales share of 7.64%.

Despite not being heavily discounted like their Blu-ray counterparts, the top sellers on BF all did fairly well on UHD. 'Wonder Woman' got 9.19%, 'Transformers: The Last Knight' got 9.14% and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' got 9.93%.

                        DVD: $171.86 million
An "all red" week narrowly avoided thanks to rising weekly Blu-ray market share - or in other words, DVD revenue fell this Black Friday faster than Blu-ray revenue.

Blu-ray sales decreased by $9.03m (down 8.5%), while DVD sales decreased by $26.98m (down 15.7%) producing $36.01 million less in combined revenue.

Blu-ray's market share increased from 38.20% to 40.16%.

For the week ending December 2, 2017, here are the stats:

                          Percentage of revenue:
                          Blu-ray vs DVD: 38.06% vs 61.94%

Blu-ray sales total spending: $48.04 million
DVD sales total spending: $78.17 million

                          Top 10:

Following last week's Black Friday sales, we have the important, but smaller Cyber Monday sales event. As with Black Friday, studios tend to avoid these times when it comes to releasing new titles for fear it may get lost in the sales mayhem, and this week was no exception.

The only new release was Logan Lucky, which got as high as 8th place. 'The Hitman's Bodyguard' jumped to 5th place, after having failed to secure a top 10 finish last week.

Comparing this Cyber Monday to the last one, both Blu-ray and DVD sales dropped quite significantly, a worrying sign considering Cyber Monday is also a very important sales event for physical media. Total weekly revenue dropped by $33.93 million.

Both Blu-ray and DVD sales dropped by about 21%, which meant that weekly Blu-ray market share remained largely the same.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: The sole new release in the top 20, 'Logan Lucky', did have an UHD version. In terms of the number of titles in the top 10 that have UHD editions, I think we have a first, in that every single one is available on UHD. 10 out of 10!

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):

                          4. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+
                          5. The Hitman's Bodyguard+
                          6. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets+
                          7. War for the Planet of the Apes+

                          10. Logan+

                            Top 10:

Blu-ray and DVD revenue was only slightly below that set last week by Cyber Monday, and this was largely thanks to the release of an A-List title in the form of Despicable Me 3.

There was only one other new release in the entire top 20, and that was the second placed American Assassin, which was quite a bit behind 'Despicable Me 3' in terms of actual sales.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Both new releases had UHD version. Of the top 10, eight titles all had UHD editions, let down by two Christmas favourites, 'Elf' and 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation', that aren't yet available in 4K.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):

                            9. Elf
                            10. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

DVD sales total spending: $90.63 million

                              These stats available from here:

                              Home Media Magazine

                              Top 10:

Blu-ray revenue rose above $50 million, and DVD sales went above $90 million, not thanks to a particular big release, but rather, the holiday sales period.

The biggest new release of the week was actually Kingsman: The Golden Circle, but it failed to unseat last week's number one, Despicable Me 3. A 2-movie collection of both Kingsman movies was also available on Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray, and it did well enough to get into 9th place.

The only other new release in the top 20 was Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season, in 3rd place.

'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' makes its way back into the top 10 thanks to the recent release of the new Star Wars movie in theaters.

But while revenue was up compared to recent weeks, compared to the same week last year, things are still looking pretty bad for both Blu-ray and DVD sales. Blu-ray revenue was down nearly 38% compared to the same week last year, with DVD revenue down 28%. Truth be told, the drop had more to do with this week's headlining new release, 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle', not really matching up to last year's new release, 'Suicide Squad', but the revenue decline (more than $70 million just this week alone) is not a once off - it has been the case for most of the year!

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' was made available on UHD, as was the 2-movie collection. Of the top 10, eight titles all had UHD editions - the two that didn't were the new Game of Thrones season box set and 'Rogue One', which Disney has yet to decide if it wants to re-release on UHD some time in 2018.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
                              1. Despicable Me 3+
                              2. Kingsman: The Golden Circle+

'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' got a BD sales share of 66.73%, with a UHD sales share of 8.7%. 'Kingsman 2-Movie Collection', being a Blu-ray exclusive, did not have a BD sales share (or rather, it had a 100% share), but its UHD sales share topped the charts at 21.55%.

'Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season' had a BD sales share of 54.19%, almost identical to the previous season's 54.91%.

                                Top 10:

We are at the peak of the holiday sales period, and both Blu-ray and DVD recorded some healthy results, but perhaps not in comparison to holidays past.

Dunkirk was the headlining release for the week, easily getting to the top of the Blu-ray sales charts. There was only room for another new release in the top 20 this week, with The LEGO Ninjago Movie coming in at 4th.

That was it in terms of new releases, but being the holidays, several of the past few week's biggest sellers all stayed and sold well the top 10.

As a comparison to last year though, sales are dramatically down. Both Blu-ray and DVD revenue declined about 31% compared to the same week last year, and you can even argue that this week's 'Dunkirk' was ostensibly a much bigger release than last year's 'The Magnificent Seven'.

This week's Ultra HD Blu-ray report: Both 'Dunkirk' and 'The LEGO Ninjago Movie' were available on UHD. So out of the top 10, eight titles all had UHD editions.

The complete top 10 chart is below (new releases in bold, Blu-ray exclusives are denoted by *, UHD releases denoted by +):
                                1. Dunkirk+
                                2. Despicable Me 3+
                                3. Kingsman: The Golden Circle+
                                4. The LEGO Ninjago Movie+
                                5. Spider-Man: Homecoming+
                                6. Wonder Woman+
                                7. Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season
                                8. Cars 3+
                                9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2+
                                10. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

'Dunkirk' managed a BD sales share of 60.47%, just above the 58.11% earned by 'The LEGO Ninjago Movie'.

Both of these titles were available on UHD, with 'The LEGO Ninjago Movie' also available on 3D. 'Dunkirk' had a UHD sales share of 13.88%, while 'The LEGO Ninjago Movie' only got 2%. The Ninjago movie's 3D sales share wasn't much better, at only 0.59%.

                                Blu-ray: $110.41 million
                                DVD: $170.48 million
An "all red" week in one of the most important sales weeks of the year isn't good news for Blu-ray (and DVD), but with almost $90 million less in sales, the decline can't be chalked up to different release line-ups.

Blu-ray sales decreased by $34.78m (down 31.5%), while DVD sales decreased by $52.85m (down 31%) producing $87.63 million less in combined revenue.

Blu-ray's market share decreased from 39.31% to 39.13%.
