    Nero7 Essentials Burns Slow On My XP

    Hi, I am a newbie. Also, I am not an exspert with it comes into configuring some software,etc. Anyway, I'm using a LiteOn writer to burn my backups and downloaded movies. (recently purchased.) Here's the problem it takes 2-4 hours to transcode and burn movies unto a blank TDK dvd.The first two movies that i burned looks okay but the third one eject before finishing burning and it wasn't any Error message shown. So I assume that it burned okay until later when I watched half of the movie. What am I doing wrong? Please, break the computer terms down for me. I know very little about computers. Oh, the writer that I brought is a Serial ATA Drive and my computer is installed for IDE. This means that I had to purchase a serial ATA cable,4-pin to serial ATA power adapter and PCI serial ATA Host (SCSI and RAID Controller Card). Lastly, I checked my computer DMA for Primary and Secondary IDE Channels as it was listed in another post.

    Primary:

    Device 0 --> Device Type--> Auto detect. Transfer Mode--> DMA if Available.--> Current Transfer Mode--> Ultra DMA Mode 6

    Device 1--> Device Type--> Auto Detection --> Transfer Mode--> DMA if available--> Current Transfer Mode-->Not Applicable.

    Secondary:

    Device 0: Device type--> Auto Detection--> Transfer Mode--> DMA if available--> Current Transfer Mode--> Multi-Word DMA Mode 2

    Device 1--> Device type--> Auto Detection--> Transfer Mode--> DMA if available--> Current Transfer Mode--> Not Applicable

    This is what underneath the controllers--> VIA BUS MASTER IDE CONTROLLER

    What's Next?

      Thanks!
      What is the master drive of the secondary ide? Uhm,Where do I look to find that out? As for the PCI serial ATA host (controller card) - it's says on the box under general features:

      .Serial ATA (SATA)Host Controller Chip with 32-bit interfacing
      .Compliant with Serial ATA 1.0 specification
      .Supports two independent Serial ATA Ports with data transfer rate up to 1.5Gb/s
      .Built-in 256 byte FIFO per Port for fast read/Write operations
      .Supports Microsoft generic IDE Operation and Intel Bus Master DMA Operations
      .RAID Function Optional:
      - Supports RAID function 0 and 1
      -Adjustable stripe size for RAID 0
      -Supports co-exist RAID set and Non-Raid HDD
      -Allow HDDS with different sizes to be configurated in a RAID set

      * I chose to not use RAID because i didn't know how to configured.(since I had the option to not) Is that the Problem???I dunno!

      Hope this information helps a little..

        there are three drives mentioned in your post

        Secondary:

        Device 0: Device type--> Auto Detection--> Transfer Mode--> DMA if available--> Current Transfer Mode--> Multi-Word DMA Mode 2
        what is this one, not your main hard drive and not the sata burner?

          Oh! It might be the configuration of my old CD-RW/DVD-ROM. I had another LiteOn drive. It was a DVD-ROM Combo Drive LTC-481614 before I install the new drive.

              In device manager does it list a chipset for your sata card?

              Some don't support sata burners right, some do

                Chipset? Meaning where it's location. This is what listing once I've Right-click properties on my SATA card. (or controller Card)

                First, it says + SCSI and RAID Controller than, before I right click and select properties it says Silicon Image SiI 3512 SATARaid controller Then, I right click and select properties
                where it takes me to GENERAL, Device Info,Flash BIO,Driver, Details and Resources.

                Where do you want me to go to find infomation needed to help me?

                            Could it be that MAYBE I need to delete some movie files?-- because it's taken up free space.
