DVD Playback in Windows Media Centre

    Hello,

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and I was wondering if you guys could please help me out.

Whenever I watch a film, it seems as though I am able to watch about half of it before the problem occurs, but then it appears and will not go away until Windows Media Centre is closed and opened again.

The problem that appears is a mass of patchy green squares that seem to flicker.

Any ideas? I certainly hope so, I have had enough of this!

Right, would have been nice to have had a friendly notice prior to being warned.

Sometimes you just get the feeling that you are being ignored and then your thread gets moved to the back of the queue, possibly never to be responded to.

The freindly notice is the forum rules.

when you violated rule14,it became apparent that you either didnt read the rules,or you missed that one. so a warning (a freindly warning) was issued,no points.

when you bumped your post a second time (only a short time later), an infraction was issued.

I feel a bit of thread hijacking going on, but at least it is generating some exposure.

            Hi Sheepdisease,

            Welcome to the Forum.

I don't have media center, but from what I have read if you have another video player installed it could be conflicting with your Windows Media Center.

Thank you for your response burrell, a much warmer approach!

I have checked and I have no other DVD player software installed.

It was worth a try. I have not read of many people using the media center here.

There are a few Vista experts that pop in frequently that would know more than I.

Seems like the preferred player is Media Player Classic. That is what I use as well.

I am curious, when you say "film", What format are you referring to? DVD, AVI, FLV?

ok first of all tell me what dvd software / codec uv installed, as far as i know only vista ultimate have dvd codec builtin, not sure for home premium.

second what other software codec u have installed, even nero comes with its own.

u can always try installing nvidia purevideo in trial mode and see if that solves ur problem.
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
