    Battery life - but not as we know it

    HP has claimed an "unprecedented milestone" with a new laptop that it says offers a 24-hour battery life, but competitor Dell has already questioned its methodology.

    I say no way, is that when the laptop is in sleep mode for part of the when being used.

      They actually made a mistake when saying 24hr-battery life. They found they had run the wrong MobileMark test, so the battery life is only 21.75 hrs. They actually tested it with MobileMark 2005 which runs scripts in XP, instead of Vista, when tested with MobileMarks 2007, which runs scripts in Vista, it only achieved 21.75 hrs.

        crap... both dell and HP, by adding little pieces of battery below the laptop and making it bulky is not a way for more battery power.... make one small that lasts 10 hrs and everyone will be happy.
        Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!
