    Audio glitch with virtualdub

I just bought a Diamond one touch video capture device from radio shack.
I am converting home videos (VHS) to digital for transfer onto CD.
    My computer is windows XP.
The supplied video editor it comes with produces a terrible pixelated video so I am using virtualdub instead.
Virtualdub renders a very high quality video with good resolution, but the problem is the audio track goes faster and faster as the video plays.
By the end of the video everyone sounds like the chipmonks.
It plays perfectly while I am capturing the video, but the audio on the finished video is all out of sync.
Is there anyway to adjust the audio tracking so it doesn't do this?

I also have Sony Vegas 8 which produces an even higher resolition video than virtualdub but the finished video runs a little slow and there is no audio.
    Can this be fixed?
