    more is better ..right

    presently running win 7 (32 bit) with 2 gigs of ram. Two sticks of ram each 1 gig.have two slots open.would it be better to get identical ram to fill the two free slots or could i put 1 2 gig stick in an open slot?

    Most new systems have dual channel which require identical sets of ram, if you are state of the art gamer or heavy multitasker then you would benefit from extra ram,
    but then the trend is to use 64 bit OS's which can utilize over 3.25 gigs of ram coupled with fast dual or quad core cpu's.

    If your computer has a small swap file and keeps plenty of ram free then you will not see any benefit from adding more.
