editing dvd's recorded on a sony dvd recorder

I have home movies recorded on a sony dvd recorder and i want to edit them. I have used Srink in the pasted on other dvd but it won't open the sony's. Any suggestions. Any video converter did'nt seem to help, AVS Video ReMaker seemed to work but the trial version only lets me burn 5 min. and i'm not ready to spend another 60.00$. Any ideas?

[B]I WILL NEVER BY SONY AGAIN[B]

FYI I found a workaround that works ; "RipIt4Me" in conjugation with "DVD Decrypter" and "DVD Srink". RipIt starts the process, Decrypter rips out the garbage files, RipIt repairs the files and Srink edits and burns it to DVD or hard drive.

You can free trial the video downloader converter--Video Download suite, maybe it can make your dream come true.
